Arrival and airport experience

Allow time for immigration and, where applicable, for collecting and re-checking baggage before a domestic connection.

Getting around

The airport metro line, prepaid taxis, and app-based rides are the usual options into the city.

Where travelers usually stay

Aerocity is convenient for short stays near the airport. Central Delhi offers proximity to major landmarks, while South Delhi has quieter residential districts.

Airport-area hotels

Aerocity's hotel cluster is a common choice for layovers because of its short distance from the terminals.

Family travel notes

Air quality varies by season; families with sensitive travelers may want to check current conditions before planning outdoor days.

Seasonal considerations

Summers are very hot, and winter can bring fog that affects flight schedules. Spring and autumn are generally more comfortable.

Local etiquette

Cover shoulders and knees at religious sites, and ask before photographing people or ceremonies.
